Hi Gang,
Thot i had better let you know Droopy died this morning.... You've all heard so much about her over the past few months!
So am a bit sad today, I have decided after this lot are gone then there's no more chooks, I get too bloomin attached to them :(
Have a good weekend my lovelies!! x

Sorry Aileen :( .Dont be put off though , we all have bad runs of chicken departures . Ros

So sorry to read of your loss, from a newbie but read your posts regarding Droopy and Grumpy
give yourself time to heal and think before making any decisions

Aileen - so sorry to hear of your loss.
This last month I've had a few deaths in the family also, including our darling Posh - tiny Pekin/something with beard and whiskers, black, beautiful, soft feathered, daft as a brush about us, and seemingly died for no reason that I could fathom, and so suddenly, enjoying life and mealworms especially one day, overnight died in her sleep.
Don't give up, chicks need people like us - daft about them!
Do go on and get more when you feel ready, it is awful when they go, I know. I think a life with chickens clucking is a better richer one. Love, Val.

Oh dear, how sad. But what a lucky girl she was, to have had such loving care.
When the Spring comes, there will be some lovely hens somewhere, queueing up to live with you.

same of you may know that i had to rehome my polish bantam cockerals well i did then i got them back as i missed them so so much but after speaking to the council i decided to let the guy have the back and sadly he had to cull donkey the white headed one who was my baby though and though ,the guy told me he had not eaten for 3 days well i went to check him and both eyes were just swollen and totally not there i was more then gutted so he went to chooky heaven its a heartbreaker when you lose one but dont give up please dont , i lost 2 bantams within the past few months with no reason to show for it and a freind told me the other day they do just tend to die and it leaves you wandering if you done anyhting wrong. :( .

Poor Droopy. So sorry to hear that Aileen. You tried so hard for her as well. There are lots of chickens out there that would really appreciate a keeper like you. See how you feel in Spring.

Aileen, I am so very sorry. It is always so sad when you try so hard, but still end up losing them :(

I really hope that come the spring you will feel comfortable and have some more, we will miss your chickeny stories otherwise!

Aileen, so sorry to hear about your loss of Droopy. She was a very lucky hen to have had you to care for her so well. I know you feel very sad now, but please don't give up keeping hens, any that are fortunate enough to come to you will be very lucky hens indeed!
