Red combs a bit speckly

Morning,

My girls have got a few white spekles on their combs - is this 'normal' or is it a fungal infection that needs treating?

I picked up a new girl yesterday (safely segregated) who seems to have this white stuff on one side of her face, but not the other - it's where the white bit would be on a Dutch (the chewing gum face syndrome as my daughter calls it)
She's certainly not a pure breed pekin, and is possibly a Dutch cross, but she's only got one bit of 'chewing gum' not two.

I'll get some pics later to see if we can work out what she is.

Thanks, all.

Hi, when you say "chewing gum" do you mean ear lobes? which should be white on a dutch - ear lobes can sometimes have patches/speckles on them- it is very hard to keep some ear lobes white- they tend to turn red/blotchy with age and sunlight- if it doesn't look sore then i wouldn't worry about it.
regards,David :)

Morning, David,

No. it doesn't look sore, I just wondered whether I should be doing anything - didn't want my inexperience to harm the girls, that's all.

Thanks.

David, this is the white bit on the new girl's face. She hasn't got it on the other side. Fungus, or not?
