Hi Everyone
My chicks growing fast so I had come to conclusion that I should get now 20 kg grovers pellets which last me aprox 4 monts.I had ordered from Tradingshed and to my horror send me a bag which end on 28th August in 20 days. After exchanging few emails with them they refused to send something with longer B/B date.I'm finding this absolutly outrages. It is not worh for me to send this back as leaving me to much out of pocket. They website is also very poor not of the products are described propely. The feed is medicated which I do not like at all.
I would love to see some section of the forum when we could rate somhow companys selling chickens feed so we could avoid disapoitment.I got Bearts Grower Pellets and if sombody would like to have a half of this bag I would gladly split.I have only 7 chickens and they will be unable to eat that at all.I'm in SW London.
Thanks and hope for some replies:)

Thats a real shame. Might be better to buy from a store, at least you will be able to check expiry dates.
I use Garvo feeds their sell by date is 6months so a bag last for ages. It is really good quality without any ACS added. If you look at their website, you might find a supplier close by.

Countrywide farmers do a good selection too, not sure if you have many stockists local to you.

I don't know if that company has a website, but you may find that because it has the acs added that the food does not go off on this date - it is just the date where they reccon that the acs is effective until but I don't know for sure with that manufacturer - Best to give them a ring

The problem is I have only pets at home as the larger pet store near me and they only sell bigger bags of layers pellets and non of growers pellets.Others pet stores do not even have anything for chickens.
Thanks for advise katpekin-try to find out this.I still think they should put production date aswell on the food.
This company which I have bought from had a very poor design webpage I will avoid anybody like this in the future. With perishable items like this they should post B/Before date anyway so you can plan ahed.It would not be a problem if I had much more chickens they would eat it before end date. This is sach a waste and I really hate wais anything.I gues I will feed all wild bird around so will have no problems with coci in the future:D

do you ever go shopping out side london i know a fue places near lakeside but not worth your while unless going for another reason
dont shop on line for food as need 3 sacs a go my mum needs 3 and my sister 1 so grab in one go

I had checked countrywide farmers thanks to Foxy and the closest one is 40 min drive, but they deliver to so I will call them and ask when they food finish b/before date and maybe order from them.I never go in the direction of Lakeside(been once there in my life)Anyway I need a bag of grovers pellets now, from November i swich anyway to Layers pellets which Pets at Home have them anyway.

Am
Not sure about your particular ducks but I hatched 3 call ducks a couple of weeks ago, if there anythin like them they stopped turning 3 days before and it took a further 1 too 2 days after they stopped turning to peck through, am new to it all too and I no how scary it feels when you ain't got an answer, so although am not talking directly about your particular breed I would imagine there all similar atleast put your mind at rest until someone who knows for definate replys :)
