Quiet hen

Hi, one of my hens has gone all quiet this afternoon. The others are running around the garden when I have fed them but she is standing under a bush doing nothing. I went upto her and she moved away. She is top hen so seems strange her behaviour. Any ideas/help?

In my experience they go quiet (stop talking) before they show any other signs of illness. It may be just because of the unseasonal hot weather. Check her poos in the morning and her crop at night. Is she laying and is her comb red?

Not a lot you can do until there are more definate signs of illness, so just keep an eye and then decide wht needs to be done.
