I've noticed that my quails seem to be drinking hardly any water at all at the moment. I have them lit for 10 hours a day, to give them a rest from laying, and they have lettuce leaves daily as normal. I would expect them to drink less when not making an egg each per day, but the drinker hardly seems to go down at all, whereas in summer they drink half a drinker full daily. If I left it unchanged I think it would probably last them the week.
Has anybody else noticed this with with their quails?

I haven't really noticed any difference with what my girls are drinking but they have been singing ( or according to my husband ) shouting very loudly. I had wondered if this was due to the cold weather? Any thoughts?

Mine are coturnix, are yours, or are they CPQs? Mine are just cheeping quietly as normal.
( I just had to alter that- the autospeller on my iPad made it 'cheering quietly'!!)

Mine are coturnix too & they have been really really loud & they were also off their grit for a few days, I wonder if this is because they aren't currently laying?
