I've just been looking at an advert for in home useage testers.....
We design and conduct In-Home Usage Testing (IHUT) locally and nationally to provide actual user feedback to companies and market research firms to evaluate products, packaging, related product instructions and more. We leverage our network of private panels (In Home Usage Testers) to provide product testers to companies for evaluating the in-home experience with a wide variety of products to ensure proper product certification and greater market access
Does anyone have any experience of this ? It sounds like one of those too good to be true adverts . 15-20hr/week . But is it a job that people actually do ?

A quick internet search shows that there are companies that do indeed do this kind of work. And yes, there are people who do that kind of work. Think of that cat food add years ago that said "Eight out of ten owners said their cats preferred it." That's In Home Usage Testing, basically. So, as Minorcafan says, unless they ask you for ANY money, or bank details etc. give it a try!

They may need bank account details to pay you. Sort code and account number won't get you into any problems - after all they are on any cheque that you write, just don't give them any security information.

I've always fancied being a mystery shopper or better still, a mystery diner!

Oh yes. But not pin numbers, or security numbers from back of cards I mean!

Thanks for the input folks, I think I'll fill out the form and see where it takes me. Watch this space

Let us know how you get on! I signed up for one of those sites that pay you for doing online surveys some years ago. But in all the time I was signed up, they never had any surveys that I was eligible to do! I suppose they really need either younger people with families, or older couples, and it also seemed to need people who watch a lot of tv and/or lived in urban areas. Middle aged people living in the countryside with no tv didn't seem to have opinions that were needed for anything! :D

Bit miffed as when I went back to the advert it said "position filled in your area " ......should have been quicker off the mark !
