Just had to order a new tub of Flubenvet, gives 20 doses so lasts my 5 girls around four applications, hence two years' worth. I've just finished up the previous tub, but am re-ordering now as Flubenvet powder has such an annoying habit of going completely out of stock for months on end without warning. Every time I get some I'm astonished at how much the price has gone up. Now around £30 per pot, I,e, £1.50 per bird per 7-day course. Used to be half of that, only two or three years ago.

Yes it's gone up nearly three fold since 2010 Marigold. It has been more economical to treat larger flocks with pre medicated pellets for quite a while now and there isn't much in it for smaller flocks anymore at 7.50 for a 10kg bag.

I reckon each egg costs at least 15p, so for a hen laying 4-5 per week on average, that's the price of 2 weeks of egg production per hen, before any other costs are added on. If they're treated twice a year, that's four weeks of course.
