Please could someone point me in the right direction!!??
I have aquired some lovely Porcelain Sablepoots BUT when I look at my show schedual which class do they fall into as Barbu D'anvers, Barbu D'uccle & Barbu De Watermael all have their own sections?? Are they AOC Belgium??????????????? HELP!!!

No Sabelpoots are in the rare classes - if there is no sabelpoot class they will probably be in the AOV Rare bantam class - and if there are no rare classes they are in the true bantam classes. Make certain there isn't a rare class before entering them in True bantam - judges can pass them over as they aren't in the right class

Dorinda!! Brilliant!! Thankyou!! I had no idea they were classed as Rare!!! That clears up 1 show but the other has a section for Rare breed Bantams but are they a Light or a heavy breed (the other sections are long tail and rumpless and I am certain they are not applicable!!!!!!). Sorry to be SUCH a novice!!!
Thankyou!!

Just had a look at a schedule Ive got , mine just says bantam rare not light or heavy. Im having to show mine in true class next show. Just had a look in couple of books & it doesnt say. Im sure Dorinda will be able to help :-)17

true isn't split into light or heavy - 'poots are simply 1.rare - 2 .true - in that order - bantam classes are split though into light and heavy - (I have a problem as I have german langshan and favorelles that are both classed as heavy - and then I have general classes as true where I have sebrights if it's a show that only has bantams light and heavy in it and no true.. I don't know the answer - will look up in the standards book - have a feeling that if I was showing my birds in that show - I wouldn't bother entering at all.. what show are you talking about - then I can have a look at the catalogue and I can help you :D

Hi, Oh heck, I feel I've opened a worm can now!!! I was looking at the Smallholders schedual at the end of May, I know the entry has now closed but I want to get my eye in now I have these super little birds!!! I agree that if it is not set out clearly I will not enter as to do all the work and then be passed over as wrong entry would be annoying to dsay the least!!!
Thankyou so so much for all your assistance in this!!!!
Kindest regards

It isn't difficult - promise - I show my birds a lot. A sabelpoot is first of all a rare breed - so goes in the rare classes Male or female. sometimes there are specific classes for sabelpoots - porcelaine is usually AOC (any other colour) as they have classes for Black, white and AOC - but not always - if there are NO Rare classes they are true bantam - true isn't split into heavy and light - that is for the softfeather classes, true is for all true bantams (ones that do not have a large fowl equivilent) - If you want to enter a show - tell me which one - I can usually manage to get an on-line copy of the schedule and I can give you a hand - but if in doubt - you can always phone the show secretary who should be able to help you - good luck and hope to see sometime soon pikkis of your winner :-)17 .

Thankyou!!!! You are a star!!!!! I am looking forward to getting them out and about! Such lovely little people!!
Kindest regards,
