poorly quail

Hi all,

hope there is somebody who can help tonight, one of my quail is poorly,drinking lots and lots of water,shakes her head and blows bubbles, keeps climbing into the water bowl and sitting there.

very watery white poo`s, any ideas?.

I have got her in quarantine now, hoping whatever it is isn`t contageous.

Bubbly eyes can be a sign of a respiratory infection, or could possibly be a ear infection?

Is she wheezing,got nasal discharge? Not eating? If so it will need antibiotics from the vet, if no change in the morning I would speak to your vet as respiratory infections can make them go downhill very quickly if not treated. If you can give her a little ACV & garlic in her water.

Not sure about the runny white poos, but could be because it is drinking a lot as the white is the wee.. glad you have quarantined her.

Hi,

thanks for trying to help but sadly she died in the night. I contacted the vet who keeps a few quail himself and on inspection it turns out to be kidney failure, he`s not sure if it is a one off or a virus but so far the others all look ok. Just have to hope they stay that way.
