I make home brew and as such i have an electronic pid controler for the boiler, so i was thinking i could use it to control the new incubator.

the basic idea is to loose the analogue controller i have with a digital model

so after searching through all the threads i cant seem to find that anyone else has done this.

i have a celotex lined plywood box as the incubator so thats fine, its 350mm by 600mm by 250mm inside, so plenty of room for the 50 eggs i want to put in it.

i want to split the heater into two sections as then i can half in use and the other half not in use or at a different temp if i so want

so controller is this one for a tenner

thermocouple is this

and the ssr

so for around £30 plus a box to shove every thing in i seem to have a digital controlled incubator, now all i need is tow metres of heater cable at 40w per metre and were in bussiness

so why has no one else tried this before with eggs?

Try an ATC210 Pete. It's more accurate than the one you suggest. Yours has too wide a switching range. It needs to be 0.5 degrees not 2.0 degrees. Check out the top thread in this section.
