Hello All,

I took some photos at the National last weekend. The link below takes you to the photos which I have uploaded onto the poultrykeeper Facebook page.

There will be more to follow but I want to be fair to Fancy Fowl who are using some of these - so I'm not posting them all at once until Fancy Fowl is out..

I hope you like them!

Hi,

Tim- I thought you said in another post "you are not that good at taking photos*. Well these are cracking and some v. fine looking birds too. Nice to see the buff orpington is still doing the rounds. I posted a pic of that one by P&T Jones, from the Alrewas show back in July.

Looking forward to seeing the Federation piccys.

Well done you. :-)08

Generally, yes, my photos are rubbish - but I think the lighting and background helped.

I also spent the evening panicing reading my manual to improve my photos between Saturday and Sunday. I made quite a few adjustments and then looked on the laptop at the differences on Sunday.

The good news is my dad is upgrading his camera again which means my EOS10D can be sold and I'll have a 400D hand-me-down for my birthday. :-)08 A fantastic help to me. He's also loaning a wide angle lens to me so I can test that out in the hall and on some birds.

Just need to make sure I can use it all before I go to the Federation!

Great pics Tim!!
I thought the Buff orpington was too high in the tail personally, a good orp should be level, not tilting like a big Pekin. Huge bird though, and getting on a bit now i should imagine, be interesting to see what P&T Jones have bred this year.
Looking forwards to next weekend, just not looking forwards to all the work between now and then, Bathing and preening etc!!!LOL See you all there,....hopefully! LOL

Ah the National 2010 thread comes alive again!

Went to the BWA National last weekend and got a 2nd (duck) and 3rd (drake) Foxy.

Looking forward to the PGGB National next weekend... We will be in the corner of Championship row with a photo booth... going to be getting up at 4.30am to get up there so a rather busy weekend ahead!

Hope to see some of you there too! :-)08

Wow! These are some amazing photographs! Never thought chickens (or any poultry for that matter) could look so lovely! I'm very new to the arena of farming and animal husbandry, so I do apologize for my naivete in future posts. Can't wait to meet all of you folks! I'm Hillevi, btw! :D

Peace@

I'm pleased you like them Hillevi.

We all started somewhere - and hopefully you'll find we're a pretty friendly bunch - so no need to apologise here!
