I set some eggs to test my young cockerel's fertility with a young buff sussex bantam and she hatched them all (3) successfully. However she is a real danger to her chicks as she's decided I am an ogre and goes into a wild panic almost crushing them and attacks me when I put water and food in. I've not had a broody like this before. She decided I was a threat to her chicks when one escaped under the coop and I had to put it back in.

Tricky chickenfan. You could stick them under an electric brooder if it continues or leave enough food and water for a number of days so you don't need to approach them.

Thanks Dinosaw. Yes, I'll try to get a bigger feeder and drinker, but I find with chicks they need changing a lot anyway. I hope she calms down when the chicks get a bit bigger.
