Orpington Club ?

Hi everyone

I was wondering if anyone here knows if there is an orpington uk club ? As all the links to the orpington club website online seem dead ? I have also tried e-mailing with no reply ? just wondering if anyone knows if a club exists or not ? Thanks for any info you can give me.

Hi John,

Yes there is an Orpington Club - I have just joined. The best way to get to them is via the secretary: Andrew Richardson. His address is 1 Cock Robin Lane, Catterall, Preston, Lancs, PR3 1YL. Tel. 01995 601772. I agree - the web addresses are a bit shaky.
Membership is about £7 per year with a registration fee of £ 3. For this they send you an annual newsletter and yearbook. This contains info on show results, general articles and a list of other Orpington Club members.

If you decide to join, let me know how you get on. They sent me last years (their latest) newsletter and year book, but I was a bit disappointed they didn't send covering welcome letter or any form of acknowledgement of my membership. On the other hand, they list all new members in the next year book. I met Andrew Richardson at the Orpington Club Stand at the National poultry show held at the Royal Showground (2009) - so this is a genuine club.

Thanks you so much i will post a letter off this week as i keep & breed lots of different coloured orpingtons myself but have never found a club to join up to. I was thinking of starting a while back an online orpington club as i wasn't sure if there was a club for orpingtons here in the uk !! So thank you so much for the address & phone number details i really appreciate the information.

I will let you know how i get on joining would have been nice if some of these breed clubs had online websites & forums for members to chat in.
