One eye swollen

One of my birds has a very swollen eye. The whole of one cheek is swollen and the eye swollen and is partially closed. She seems well in herself and the other eye is fine. I wonder what I should best do?

On closer inspection I think its a swollen cheek, rather than a swollen eye. Maybe I'll try washing and putting some antiseptic cream of some sort on her face?

It's a bit early in the year for a sting, which might be a possibility. It sounds painful, though. Maybe some kind of infection from a thorn?

Thank you Marigold. It could perhaps be a scratch from a thorn. She is unfortunately rather difficult to handle.
