hi
anyone have any ideas my blackrock for the second time over the last two weeks has passed just yolk and clear no shell whatsoever she seems perfectly fine in herself she has been laying every day all winter

thanks

Hi,do your birds have oystershell and flint grit? as long as she has access to grit, she will be fine- sometimes birds pass shell -less eggs, occasionally- they also produce mini eggs that have no yolk - just keep an eye on her and she should be laying normal eggs most of the time-
regards, David :)

They will from time to time, especially hybrids / commercial layers.

If you have a look at the new poultry diseases and disorders section and select the eggs tab, there are a number of egg problems described, one of which is soft or missing shell.

Good Luck.
