Gave the chooks a saucer of warm tea this evening. Its so funny how they get a beak full and really seem to savour it before getting another.

You will have to start shouting TEA UP every time you give it to them Rick and then see if they respond to the time honoured call in the correct manner by immediately downing tools and running for the brew.

:) and dunking their custard creams.

There not getting biscuits with it really! I have seen them drop their pellets in the water before though when they had the bowls next to each other.

So, do they get milk & sugar in their tea? Or just plain? :D And little sandwiches?

Oh, builders tea of course - with milk and sugar - None of ya fancy Lapsang Souchong.
Actually, I go into the run with a mug of tea and pour them some in an empty food bowl. Have to blow on it for a while. Have tried to tell them to blow on it themselves but they just can't seem to do that.

Hope it's decent tea, Yorkshire, Tetleys or some such. Decaff ?
They will be wanting a footstool and the newspaper next.

That is so funny - I think my mum is nuts as she makes tea for her collie. Now I will have to tell her she is neglecting her chooks. :D

My poor new girls are feeling quite neglected! So far, all they've had is organic pellets! They've not been out on grass yet, because I'm training them to use the treadle feeder before leaving them out. I don't want to leave the feeder open when the run is open. So it will be at least another week before they go out. Depending on how clever they are about learning that the feeder isn't going to eat them!
