My duklings have a deep-ish layer of newspaper in their cage, and a piece of vet bed on top of this.Where they spalsh the water everywhere they've taken to eating the soggy newspapers.Pulling the vet bed out of the way to reach it,I swapped the newspaper for ecopetbed, but, they eat that as well.Sure if I buy shavings they will eat this to.
Will eating newspaper harm them? They will be moving outside in about 2 weeks, last night I'm sure would have been too cold for them to move out now, also, they are going to need bedding of some sort in their hen house, and I don't know what to use that they wont eat.

I wouldn't give them any sort of bedding that they can eat - ducklings are notorious for eating wood shavings as you are predicting Lydia... they can get impacted with eating them and die.

Eventually, they will grow out of it - but for now, any bedding they eat, remove.

Good Luck ;)

Thanks Tim,I will.I used newspaper to help soak up the water, they splash it everywhere.I tried using a chicken water container and they knock it over to get the water  .......little horrors  .
