Hiya everyone
I'm Nikki from Derbyshire, I have been looking at keeping some ducks for a few weeks now and have just come across your wonderful forum. So hope to learn a lot from you all by looking at your posts in the coming weeks.

Thanks
Nikki

Hi Nikki and welcome to the forum. You may know more than me about ducks already -we've only raised two Mallard chicks so far.

We're from Derbyshire. Derby then Ashbourne then Lichfield Staffordshire then Burton-upon-Trent then Dordogne France then???

Hello nikkilovesbear. and welcome to the forum! :D :-)99

You are in good company..there are a few ducky peeps on here! We keep runner ducks and muscovies here, loads of fun (and mess..) but love them :D

Thanks for the warm welcomes. I'm trying to learn all I can about ducks before I get a few. Had lots of pets before, currently have a dog, guinea pigs and rats, and have had hamsters and rabbits before. But birds is totally different kettle of fish. Ordered a few books :)
How old are the mallards now? They're such characters.

Thanks foxy
Haha, I've read they can be a tad messy, look forward to that. I'm sure my dog will love cleaning up after them

Hiya Rat owner! How many do you have? I have 2 ratties called Lionel and Stevie, they're rescue rats, so not too friendly yet but trying to break them :) My silly chocolate lab, Bear, was licking their cage the other day and Stevie bit his tongue, was literally like a blood bath. He's not learnt and think he is also trying to make friends.

I currently have 27 rats, I lost a lot over the winter due to old age sadly. My oldest one at the moment is pigglett he is 33 months and looking very frail now. My dogs have learnt the hard way to  and now all stay away from the cages!!! I am hoping that Ruby, a black berkshire girl is pregnant, some days she looks as if she is, today she looks as if she's not :-)19
