Hi I'm new here, I live in the hills where it is cold most of the time and the winds blow like hurricanes. Winter is always cold and bush fires are the norm in Summer.
I breed Orpingtons and have most colours in large but specialise in Cuckoo. I have a number of colours in Cuckoo and always working on new ones.
I also have Cuckoo and Black in bantam Orps, as well as Phoenix in a few colours and Silkies in White Black and Cuckoo.
I live on an old run down farm so there is always something to do either inside or out.
There are cattle, geese and turkeys on the place as well. With Maremma to guard the lot. And a few cats to catch the mice.
Hopefully I can learn a few things from everyone here.
Cheers

Welcome to the forum, it sounds like you have an interesting setup with some interesting birds.

I used to keep Buff, White, and Gold Laced Orps at one point but I have had to cut down over the last few years with family commitments and so on. I now only keep French Copper Black Marans and Abacot Ranger ducks with a few other odds and ends.

thanks for the welcome Tim - an interesting set up - yes thats one way to put it

thanks also David for your welcome :D - busy is probably the best way to describe life here - I call it hectic sometimes tho

all I need to do now is work out how to use the forum = slowly at first I guess

It's not too bad to work out - and Davidd, Snifter or Myself are often around to help if you get stuck.

The main thing is to remember is you can't 'break' anything so feel free to have a go. There is a preview button you can use before you hit submit and there is an edit button so you can go back and alter your post if it's wrong.

The only thing that does cause some difficulty at times is uploading photos - they need to be small images, not straight from the digital camera.

Good Luck!

Tim
