Hi

I have just got four one year old Black Rock chickens that I am keeping in my garden. They have been here a week and they are great, but two are laying dailey and two are not. Any clues to why? They all seem happy and put themselves to bed every night at 9pm, they have a large run and a hutch that they lay and sleep in.

Hello and welcome to the forum They will settle down soon and will start to lay- sometimes the move to new places can stop them layng for a lttle while.

I have/had Black rocks also.... great layers. Give them a short while to settle and they'll be cracking them out 11 :? 17

Try not to spoil them with too much other than with grass .... They slowdown in production if too much corn/bread/spoils are given in addition to their layers pellets. (jmho from personal observation of my girls)
