Hi guys, lurked for a little while, thought I'd register.

I'm Paul, the wife and I are looking at converting an old brick kennel in the garden (thread to follow) to house some chickens after seeing the success the brother in law has had with his.

Hi Paul, good to hear from you both, and welcome to the Forum. Glad to hear you've now taken the plunge, we'll look forward to hearing about your plans,

Hi Bickerton and welcome to the forum. I worked in Nuneaton for 5 years but never crossed the border into Bedworth. Brick sounds good so long as it has a DPC, otherwise respiratory problems is a possibility, even with good ventilation as sometimes there is no wind. It will take lime wash inside against red mite instead of loads of chemicals.

Cheers guys, was trying to put a post up with the plans but seems I need to resize all my pics so will do that tomorrow when I'm not using my phone.

Dimensions are

The base dimensions are 11ft 6" x 8ft 6 "
House dimensions 4ft x 8ft 6"
House is a peaked roof Height = 4ft 9" at the lowest point and 7ft 4" at the highest point
Yard dimension 7ft 4" x 8ft 6" with a 4ft wall round it.

Hard to picture it I guess will sort the pics out properly tomorrow

The yard is only 6 square metres so I wouldn't put more than 3 large hens in there Bickerton. Any more and you will get stress related problems, the severity depends on the level of overcrowding.

Just to give you an idea till later.
