Hi,
Well I collected two new girlies yesterday- Buttercup and Fudge, Barbu D'Anvers, approx 22 weeks.
They are sisters and very much "Garden" girls. The breeder thought they were far too dark for him but they have such charming little personalities.
Buttercup has clearly faired better than Fudge- who is a little on the thin and scruffy side to say the least- will soon get that chest plumped out and her muff feathers full and luscious.

they are really beautiful! Very sweet looking things, well done you! :-)08 :D :D

Elmwood, they are so cute and pretty. I bet the Pekins look large compared to them. :D :-)08 :-)17
They are very lucky;you will really spoil them.

Thankyou Foxy & CTB.

They really are cuties and amazingly brave. The larger breasted girl, Buttercup stood up to Mama Lavender pekin today, beaks locked- both each side of a temp barrier. The new girl really stood her ground. They have gotten used to the sky now, just mastering the grass.......as for mealworms 16 pecks at one little worm.

Little Fudge looks more like a mistle thrush- her throstled chest is a serious fault in the show world so I have just read.......

Aww

Belgian Quail Bantams/Barbu d'Anvers were my first ever chickens! :D
Got a trio of them  Rooster, Davina and Davinas friend ;)
Rooster was only here for a few weeks and then had to go back to the farm, swapped for Babs the pekin!
Can't believe that was 5 years ago :-)11

They look great! Congrats :-)17

Unfortunately not, after a few months Babs, the pekin who thought she was a dog, pecked Davinas head off, and Davina's friend's wing off... :-)02

She FR'd in the garden all the time after that and the others were kept separate!
They can live a good 6 years ... provided they're kept away from Babs ;)
