I'm thinking of get a couple more p.o.l. chooks to go with my 4 hens which i bought last november (again p.o.l.)
will they be readily accepted by the existing flock or would I need to take any special measures like keeping them separate for a while?

It is better to keep them separate for a fortnight, but,so that if any of the new chooks have an illness that could infect your existing birds.
Introducing another 4 is a good idea,it is introducing a single hen that is harder for the new single hen.It will take them a while to adjust to being a larger flock, but,if after a week of having the new birds, they can be in a run where all the chooks(old and new) can see and smell each other this helps a lot.

When getting new birds I recommend getting at least 2 from the same flock, as they know each other, will go around together and when introducing to your other girls won;t be singled ot and picked on. Always keep your new birds away from your existing birds for at least 7 days even is they are and look healthy. Better to be safe than sorry.
