There are some excellent new articles this month on the Poultrykeeper site, see http://us1.campaign-archive1.com/?u=42a240e8a84d647213ee916de&id=8a90b3e004&e=170c5d671c
Including one by Tim on incubation humidity, and two others on raising baby orphan ducks and on imprinting in waterfowl, by Zoe Brodie-James, (dorsetduckowner.)

Very good as usual. I have to say I particularly liked Zoe's article and the bit on sexual imprinting was very interesting. Normally my hatches just behave like normal chickens but occasionally you get an individual or a group who think they are human or you are chicken, my Pekin cockerel Lemony used to court me every morning prior to me telling him to scoot and it is comical trying to get into the Thuringians run as all four of them squat when I approach the door often blocking it.

I agree with Tims advice on humidity. I would add that when buying in eggs it is an idea to candle them before you begin incubation as you don't know how long or in what conditions they have been stored and may find that the air sac is a lot more developed than you had anticipated.
