Can anyone help identify the following? My 2 year old Amber Star had a nasty bout of sour crop a month ago, cured now, but obviously went off lay. She has been back in the nest box during the last few days but instead of an egg she is laying what look like large lumps of pinky cream fat. I am mystified...can anyone clarify? Is there anything to be done or will it right itself? I would be most grateful for any advice.

Sounds like a lash. Google it, have a look at the pictures and read the description, see if it tallies! It's a clearing out of the egg laying equipment. It's quite normal, don't worry, even though they can look horrific! Hope that helps?
