I can't work out how to reduce the photos small enough to post them!
So, here is a link:

The first pictures are of 3 ex-batts that I picked up on saturday - they are not very nice but I took them so that people can see the conditions that these birds are in. I will post some more in 3 months and hopefully there will be a big improvement!
The rest of the photos are of my existing flock, they are all around 9 months old. Their favorite game is to hide in the hay manger - they spend ours chasing each other in and out of it!!
 
The scary thing is that your ex- batts aren't as bad as some!- Your chickens look fantastic- Love the buff ones :D

Good luck with the ex batt girls. they don't look to bad for ex batts. I helped a friend pick some up a while back and a lot of them looked oven ready! :o , after a bit of tlc it is amazing how quick they come round. love th big buff chooks are they orpingtons?
 
Yes, buff orpingtons. And the black ones are barnevelders.
I think the ex-batts are already looking better actually - they have a bit more colour. They eat and drink non-stop!
