Hello,

My name is Rosie and I moved to the Dordogne 3 weeks ago with my husband who has now returned to the UK.

We have bought our chickens from the UK and are currently hatching TNN's and Leghorns - a strange time I know but a necessity so as you can imagine things are somewhat hectic as I never know when we will have a power cut !

I look forward to participating in discussions - probably asking for advice more than giving it but you never know and time permitting of course.

Bon soir

Welcome Rossie,we had been waiting for you,Chris told us all about it.How the things going as you hatching time comming very soon :D

Thanks tygrysek75. The first batch are due to hatch on Wednesday/Thursday and I am just about to check them again as the humidity has dropped from 75 at 2pm to 71 at 9pm. Chris's instructions are not to let it go below 70 so I guess not much sleep for me tonight!!

Hi Rosie, Good to hear from you. Hope all goes well with the hatching - keeping my fingers crossed.

Welcome, Rosie. We're all looking forward to hearing the Other Side Of The Stories!
Every good wish for happiness in your new home, for both of you and all the chickens.

Update: 1 TNN hatched during the night (very cute, perfectly formed and wanting to get out so am setting up the rearing box), three more pipped, 2 Leghorns pipped - can't really see the others as Suro is not an ideal hatcher for viewing!

Just wondering if this post is in the right forum or should I open a new post in 'Hatching and Rearing' ?
