My Dalmatian Bantams

So, a couple years ago I decided I wanted to create my own breed of bantam. All the bantams I had ever seen were bred to be the smallest and the fanciest, not selected for egg-laying, broody behavior, or foraging ability. I wanted a fun pet that could also be used on a Hobby Farm. So I created what I call the Dalmatian Bantam. It is a Paint, like the Paint silkie, and is fairly large for a bantam, bred to be hardy in all weather, good at foraging, able to avoid predators, and good at laying, brooding, and economic. So far things are going pretty well. Lots of Paint chicks hatching, few to the perfect standard I'm looking for, but it's a work in progress. : )

They look very nice Gita. Keep on going and I'm sure you will get better conformity. Good luck.

Love the look of the bird and her chicks.

I have decided I would like a few bantams apart from Pekins and my two little hybrids, about 4 or 5 years old now.

I have just bought some buff Plymouth rock and purebred (better be) Leghorns, a lavender and 3 white.
