i have 2 14 week old cream legbars and i have been trying to house them in with the adult girls but about 3 of my adult girls just wont have them in the big house they peck them like theres no tomorrow and really give my babies hell . over the past 3 nights i have been letting the chicks go in the big house but i have been watching though the door with it only just slightly open enough for me to spy on them and the poor things are looking so horrified that i open the door and they come flying an screaming out the door at me and almost fly into my arms that i feel sooooooooooooooooo bad an guilty for puting them though this :? but i shouldnt do should i  the new girls arrive sunday afternoon and it looks like they could be sharing thier new houses with the babies why cant my big girls just except them in the big house life would be so much easier or is it i am a total wimp towards my babies   its going to be even worse though if i cant find a good free home for my cockeral then he will have to be put down and i wont like seeing his sister all sad omgggggggg who said chicken keeping was easy

hi there,
If you have a spare house or coop you could try moving the mature hens and the young ones into a neutral venue for a week or so. The old girls taken out of their comfort zone wouldnt be as hard on the young ones.
Once they have got used to each other you can then put them back in the big house.

This strategy has worked a treat for me in the past.
I hope this is of help yo you
Ray
