muscovy ducks

Hi, I have a moscovy duck that has been sitting on its first lay of eggs for 53 days. I understand it can take up to 35 days but this is pushing it a bit! She seems to be drinking and occasionally eating, but always returns to sit on the eggs for days on end. I have left her to her own, with the knowledge that a duck will eventually leave the unhatched eggs -none have hatched - but i am starting to wonder about any long-term damage the duck may be putting her body under. Any thoughts????

I think the right thing to do is to remove the eggs. They're probably infertile.
