Hi. Have any of you used Bokashi Active Bran to add to your compost. I got a bag of it when I bought a cube off eglu recently. I've been sprinkling in on our kitchen compost and then adding it to our compost bin in the garden. Recently I have noticed mould in the bin. As bran is a grain, and mouldy grain can give birds aspergillosis, I am a little worried. The (covered) bin is not far from my two chicken coops. .... Should I stop using it?

White mould is good, green and other are bad. To make bookashi you need special bucket.Good bactera cant have air coming in contact, otherwise they dye and bad start to replace them.Using bran on compost is a bit waste in my opinion. You can burry bokashi in kompost heap and this is really great.
