Miniature Crested Duck Hatching?

Hello,
I have 2 miniature crested female ducks, 3 Indian runner females, and one call duck female. I want to breed from my Cresteds, but I have heard that they can have severe problems within the egg? Can anyone tell me more about this, and if there is any way to avoid it? I don't necessarily want to breed purebred cresteds, will there still be problems if I breed her with a call duck (male of course!)

Hiya, sorry for the late reply.
The gene that creates created ducks can be lethal.
You will either get dead in shell, a live duckling with neurological problems, or a healthy crested duck.
The crest actually covers a soft patch in the skull which is a defect and the extra feathers evolved to protect the skull.
As for percentages I can't tell you as you will be breeding with a non crested so who knows what may pop out!
