Hi all. Hope you had a good X-mas!
Betty laid a little blue egg on the day - first one for 3 months and was one egg short for the Yorkshire puddin's.
Teabag is moulting. Silly girl!

My girls are seriously getting back to business, I've had blue eggs, white and brown eggs in the last few days. All girls are looking good after a very late moult, and Croads are huge and gleaming, and all are thoroughly fed up with being confined to the run. They all make a rush for the door and are determined to get out if they can. When is the end date of the quarantine? I've lost track.

Have a good 2017 everyone.

End of the quarantine is 6th January Valerie, but that may be revised with the recent cases?

Nothing happening over here in that respect. We collected our Turkey from the farm as planned and very nice it was- particularly the French stuffing made with the liver, heart and gizzard. Worth noting that the leg meat was quite tough- as a result of the free-ranging perhaps? They also have 100 free ranging chickens and fortunately they are laying, so we bought some eggs from them in preference to those of unknown origin in the supermarket.

23 hens here and no eggs at the moment, but some of them are still coming out of their moult and some are rather old at 7 years in Spring. Few combs looking very red though so we may see some eggs in the next week?

Happy New Year to everyone. Our 2017 is going to be a very busy year as we are finally moving to our forever home- started packing already!
