It's a nice little story really, the guy was called Rod Temperton and he was living in a dingy one bedroom flat in Germany when he was recruited into disco band Heatwave who he wrote Boogie Nights for. Went on to write quite a few hits, 'Sweet Freedom' for Michael McDonald, 'Rock With You' for Jackson and 'Baby Come to Me' for James Ingram which was number 1 in the US amongst others. When he died he had homes in LA, Fiji, Switzerland, France and Kent.
