Please could someone give me a little bit of advice?
I have 2 lovely warrens that were purchased from the same seller about 3 weeks ago. I thought by now one would have begun to dominate a little and be a bit more in charge than the other, but they run about together, no one is boss at the food container and neither dominates the perch at night. At the moment there is certainly no pecking or squabbling. Is this normal for warrens or are they just enjoying each others company? Are they really this mellow? :-)17

What's your problem? Enjoy!

I've found that a pair of young birds introduced together at about the same age often become best friends, and it's really lovely to see them together. At some point, you'll probably introduce more birds, and by then the Warrens will be more mature, and will show the newbies who are the bosses. At this point, you'll be able to see who considers herself the boss, even though she won't be outwardly dominant to the other warren. Usually, young birds are quite submissive, so the friendship can develop without too much competition. Difficultires can happen several years down the line, though, when one of them dies - the first pair of hybrids I had were friends, and when one of them died this Spring, the other one became quite lost, and also much more bossy to the younger birds.

I agree, be grateful and enjoy them, especially if you read some of the threads on here about the problems of introducing new hens !

Mellow is a good word to describe Warrens; I am now down to 4 of an original 6, 1 killed by fox, the other was ill, recovering and suddenly died.
They are so easy to tame, and have given me so much pleasure and many laughs. The biggest downside of them is their inbuilt determination to try and trash the garden, even though they have enough space, and have their own great place for dustbaths.
The eggs just keep coming! even though mine are now elderley, and are not laying at the moment.
They range in age from 3 to 4 years plus.
One of my replacement hens, a whitestar, also looks like being a fantastic layer, looks stunning, but wish I had bought another Warren instead.
