I've read recently that chooks kept in an enclosed run are better fed on mash rather than layers pellets.
The reason they gave was, its because they can eat their day's ration of pellets in about half an hour wheras mash takes much longer to eat. In an enclosed run they can get bored easily & once they've eaten their days ration they have nothing to do.
Anyone know if this is actually the case?
I feed mine on pellets, they're in an enclosed run but I don't think they're bored (well, they have said they are  )
