just having a moment of uncertainty and wondered if anyone can give me a bit of advise. I have a hen who when my friend was chicken sitting for me in october accidently stood on her when I returned she told me that she thought she had lamed one of my hens. Since then one of my hens has a very pronounced stagger hence her name bumble. Her limp has not improved but seems happy otherwise eating and pecking around although she does have to rest more than the others. Her comb is red and eyes bright. She is a heavy breed hen so presumably it would make the limp worse anyway.
I have now been reading such scare stories about Mareks and wondering if there is any way I could have been fooled by my friend standing on one of the hens and in actual fact this is not necassrily the same hen she stood on but a hen with Mareks. Apart form the stagger she does look well Im prob worrying about nothing but some reassurance would be appreciated.
Are there any other symptoms that I should look out for or am I being paranoid.

Hello, your hen does not have Mareks disease- she has a limp :) She will probably have it for life although muscle damage can take a long while to right itself= as long as she is eating/drinking and looking well, dont worry :)
regards, David :)

Yes, agree with David, sounds like damage to the leg and a limp that she probably will always have...

Bumble is a lovely name...
