Hi everyone

I have just purchased a couple of pairs of mandarin & one pair of carolina ducks. I have given them all some mixed corn which is what the guy said they was eating where i bought them. But they don't seem to be eating the mixed corn i have ? I have tried giving them some mealworms & they seem to eat them. Also i managed to hatch out 1 baby mandarin ducking in the end out of the 30 eggs i purchased. I have given the duckling crumbs but it don't seem to want to try & eat any crumbs ? I have dipped it's beak into the water pot but again it don't seem to want to drink on it's own ? I have like the adults i bought given the duckling some small little baby mini mealworms that i have bred & he seems to eat the mini mealworms. But this is all i can get him to eat so far. What do other people feed there mandarins on ? Any help would be greatly appreciated ? I was going to buy a little bit of wheat tomorrow to see if the adult mandarins might eat that ?

Thanks John

Well i have now managed to get the duckling to eat some duck crumb By first mixing the crumb in with the mini mealworms & also by wetting my finger & getting some crumb to stick to my finger. The duckling then will peck at my finger & take some which is a big improvement. Will now try the same thing with the adult birds to see if i can get them to eat some wheat & corn.

John
