Lump (infected?) Near breast bone

When you need to apply purple spray on a hen's face (including comb & wattles), spray some onto your fingers or a cotton bud & then wipe it onto the affected area. Wearing gloves & old / dark clothes is a good idea, as the spray seems to get everywhere & it does stain!

In regards with the antiseptic spray, I've got this purple spray from omlet which I've used when one of the chickens pecked another's comb when they were getting their pecking order in place but I wasn't too sure whether I should use it near my chicken's eye as the spray is pretty purple (didn't feel comfortable to spray it on her eye and potentially make things worse).

The purple spray is good for camouflaging wounds, especially if a bird has been pecked and is being bullied, and it is disinfectant. As Icemaiden says, one way to apply it, especially near to eyes or on the face, is on a cotton bud, but it’s less messy if you spray some on to a saucer before dipping the cotton bud into the purple puddle, and then apply it carefully just where it’s needed. Wearing disposable plastic gloves helps as well.
