I keep logging on to the forum but finding no new messages & then logging out again. It seems that I'm not the only one! I just checked the stats & found that, while I'm the only member logged in, there are another 57 people looking at the forum too. Now I don't feel so lonely!

Hi all, hope your well.
Can't find new post on this phone so thought would drop in end of this thread.
I moved out to a narrow boat (still work in progress after 2 years but fine.)
Came a point where I had to make a decision providing for the hens. Was a bit worried for a while then a couple living on a farm with horses and a llama said they would take them on. More space than can shake a stick at! Grass to the horizon with a totally mixed flock. Needless to say took them by surprise but last contact all seemed to be going well and had to let them go after that

Hi Rick. We've missed you! I still think of you & your chicken wellies whenever it starts to get a bit muddy 😆.

I go narrowboating regularly, as I own 1/12 of a 58' boat (that's roughly the toilet tank then!). I did once contemplate a tug style boat with an enclosure for bantams on the tug deck, but foxes would've been a problem & the girls would have been stressed by the constant change & the locks. As I told my current flock when I went away on it last week, they're probably much happier where they are in the garden.

Have you got a permanent mooring, or are you continual cruising?

Working this through a phone is a bit mad😅 Hi Icemaiden good to hear from you! Toilet tank 😂 I'm on a permanent mooring north of Cov. Patrick McG found it for me. It's very rural in an odd sort of way. The whole are round here is quite nostalgic from childhood boating times. Chickens on a boat would be crazy!!! There was that post on FB about hen hatched on a sailing ship but that's what it would take. I was thinking the other day, could I keep quale maybe but then imagined then everywhere like popcorn. No it's not for hens 🙁 but the ducks, swans and moorhens are good company
