i have had to put one of my wee little partridge bantams into the rabbit hutch on her own as she has started sneezing and one of her eyes was bubbled up but i am worried that she might get cold with being on her own and having no one to snuggle up to will she be ok ? shes started moulting as well .

If she is very young she will get cold, otherwise, if the hutch is draught free and well insulated where she sleeps she should be OK. Our adult bantams are cold in the greenhouse because we forgot (with recent problems taking priority) to put the bubble wrap on the roof glass. May get the gas brooder out and try it tomorrow morning in there.

To be safe I'd take her inside while we have frosts and let her sleep in a box. It will help her to stay nice and warm if she is ill anyway.

I would take her indoors for a few days hon if she's not well, and especially if its colder outside, let her concentrate on getting better without having to worry about keeping herself warm too.
Hope to hear she's on the mend soon x

believe me if i could have her in doors i would but not only would my dogs eat her my parents well they would freak beyond words and probably kick me out to the garage some things they allow some they dont :-)05 .
the hutch is pretty much draught free and the front is all blocked of with a old door which i use to stop the wind blasting in or the rain as the doors are still wire mesh half covered with stupid thin ply { havent got round to making new solid doors yet } ok i hope she will be ok .if i lived here on my own my girls would probably have full range of the house i could be stupid enough to let that happen minus dogs of course .i could bring home loads of straw in the morning abd give her a big deep bed but i think thats to risky with the poss of red mite still lurking in that hutch dont want them geting in the straw even though its been clear for a week now .

She should be OK, though the fact she has an infection does make her a bit more vulnerable. Make up a good nest of shavings, that should retain a bit of heat.

she was ok this morning how happy am i , her eye was a slighty closed up so i very gently massaged it open and will clean it later although there wasnt any bubblying or gooey stuff phewwwwwwwww gave her a nice warm mash and warm water with garlic looks like it will be a trip to the vets later .

That's a relief Karminski. Another cold night tonight then warm and wet for Wednesday. Hope she is OK.

shes a lot better this afternoon :D :D i am hoping its the weather changes and the moult thats knocking her for 6 and not anything seruios but i will be keeping an eye on her .
