i built a new run the other week that was 12 ft by 5 ft well i wasnt to happy with the size so i took it all down and used some of the stuff to re- do my large run into the U shape which i had wanted to do for some time as i had to get the girls of the worse area which is always so boggy and gross with sticky yukky down right digusting mud that went well and now my girls are only on one side of the run which is higher up and now dont get no where near as muddy but i was then given the roofing sheets for free and it was enough to cover a 12ft by 12 ft run so i rebuilt the new run bigger and better got a friend to help me put up the top beams and the roofing sheets ypipppppe great i thought the bantams and favs will now finally have a dry run well ummmmmmmmmm nope as it turns out the roof leaked like hell found out last friday when it rained all day it was just as wet inside and just as muddy  so i asked a friend to pop over and omgg the whole roof as got to come down and be rebuilt properly with stronger beams etc etc so its all planned for a week thursday with the help of 3 guys who know what they are doing think i have leant by this  always ask a freind who knows his stuff for help first and dont do it on your own but the banties and favs will be in thier new run for the new year i promise :D i so cant wait once the ground is completely dry i am going to add loads of shavings so hopfully i wont have to poo pick them everyday i'll just need to have a good clear out every few weks will safe me time each day and i'll have lovely dry fluffy birds again :D :D

Not heard from you for a while Karminski. Is patrolling the allotments keeping you busy and how to do you keep getting all this free stuff with the labour to assemble it -lucky or what?

still here just got hooked on tv series via netflix cant get enough of it   well the help comes from people that know me an mum an that we now need it now my dad has gone an i suppose i was just lucky to get the roofing sheets wish i could get another 10 somehow then i can do the big girls run makes a chance though my luck normally sucks to high hell .i'll get these guys a gift but i probably get told of for it :-)10 :-)10 .as for the allotments and being site rep well thats just totally boring wont liven up tell the spring .

it wasnt at enough of an angle and it didnt help that me or my friend that did help knew anything about putting up a solid roof :( but at least it got tested before the girls went in there which is a good thing as now it will be done properly , it slopes well now though as one end is 6ft tall the other just over 5ft  the sheets are old as well and already got bows in the them but they will be sorted out once its re - attached .

Only really need a 5 degree slope. Putting a few sturdy slats across beams will definitely help.

i did do that but it wasnt quite right :-)05 :-)05    thats why i have called on friends who know what they will be doing :-)17 should of done it first time then 8 birds would be in the dry already but hey ho learn by your mistakes .
