I'm lookingfor a large Brinsea brooder, used, but in vgc.
I'm reluctant to pay about £70 for one unless I know they really are good and work, so looking for secondhand or unwanted.
I will need it in about a month or so.
Are they as economical to run as advertised?. I feel it must be better then a couple of bulbs, and hopefully cheaper.
I will consider the small er one if I am offered one. I know they use just 18w, so very economical.

Think it's down to the insulation of the casing Valerie. A larger powered unit will just switch on less but has the capacity to deliver more heat if necessary. We use a lamp for a week, which is very expensive, then switch to an electric hen. A brooder is a good idea.
