I am going to be putting some lady Amherst and white pheasant hatching eggs in my Suro king incubator tomorrow, can any one tell me how many turning and non turning days they need and what humidity and temp it should be set at for each? Any help would be great as my last lot were a bit of a disaster thanks

I just got 15 reeves pheasant eggs from a breeder who said they take 24 days, to stop turning on the 21st day. 37.5ºC and 50% humidity up until day 21 then he said to crank it up to 90% humidity.

He did give me 15 because I said I wanted two pheasants and apparently it takes that many to actually get a chick. He said all ornamentals were useless at breeding - but he had quite a few. We only chatted briefly but his front pens had been there for 12 years so I got the impression he knew his salt!

It's not much but hope it helps :)

I hatch Golden pheasant eggs occasionally when i have nothing else to hatch. They take 23days, temp 37.7 humidity 35. last 3 days, stop turning, drop heat to 37.6 and humidity 60. i was told this years ago by a breeder and have had good results every time.

oh by the way, i personally wouldnt put humidity up to 90, its too much. Ducks and other waterfowl have it highter, but even then i only go upto 75.

Yeh I think I have had trouble with the membranes being to wet and they become like elastic and it is not brittle enough for the chicks to be able to break through, as a result I have lost a lot of fully developed chicks. The lady I got my eggs from completely drys her water trays out when they start to pip and has had great results, but on a fully automatic incubator what humidity % would that be?

I thought it was massively high and said so but he said it works for him. Now I'm not sure what to do haha :)
