thanks for looking :)

Hello, well she is a nice bird but most people know of gold tops as a cross between a white silkie cockerel and a light sussex hen- the silkie is genetically gold and the sussex silver- hence the pullets are gold. I am sure she will be a great broody.
regards, David :)

then I have been mis-lead to believe that it was a LS hen and black silkie cockerel....
what will I get then??

I think your hen is beautiful by the way :)

No you haven't been misled Blue, it is just that a the white Silkie gene works differently! This is Mary my lovely Gold Top. She is broody around 3 times a year and a doting mother! :D

i dont think it matters which way you do the cross as the whole point is hatching a good sized hen that makes an excellent sitter and mother!

phew, thats ok then!
Lenin will be busy, once the LSes finally get round to laying eggs

Mary is gorgeous ... I'm a sucker for markings like that!
