sorry about the poor picture quality i took them on my phone, the white spots are much more defined than the pics make them look.

could olivia be the one fetilizing these eggs? could she be a cockerel?
she has never crowed.......but shes never laid an eggs either.

any opinions would be great........ confused :(

many thanks

Well firstly, Olivia / Oliver...... is beautiful!!
But no not necessarily, if you look at my post just a couple of weeks ago "never laid an egg!" you'll find out I am in the same boat as yourself as is darkbrowneggs.... Their advice to me was to sit it out till mid-end Feb as by then the lighter nights will be well on there way, and lots of sun for egg producing....
So fingers crossed it happens soon, I am desperate for my fresh egg on toast!

Doesn't look like a cockerel to me, could very well be wrong though! :D

That "white spot" is the germ disc, perfectly normal. If it was fertilised sometimes you can see an inner circle or spot (bit like a target )in the middle of the germ disc, very hard to detect in a hens' eggs, however easier to detect in a ducks' egg.

Hello, Olivia is a pullet- she will lay when ready- some silkie crosses can take longer- silkies are not the quickest to come into lay- so dont worry -she will soon :)
regards, David :)
