I have recently got a pair of Muscovy's the duck settled in well and is laying every day, I have read Muscovy's only lay when they are ready to raise a family is this true?

Hi!
I recently took in a pair of what the previous owners called Muscovy's, but I'm pretty sure they're cross bred. The pair have made a nest since thursday in their coop and there are 3 eggs in there today! I also read that Muscovy's lay clutches of eggs and sit when they have finished laying a clutch. As mine (I think) are crosses I don't think the eggs will be fertile though :(

Hi! We took the eggs every day since then, and she would always be outside behaving normally, but recently every time we went to visit them during the day she'd be in her coop sitting on the eggs. I'm no longer sure if they are Muscovy crosses or Magpie ducks, so I've decided to let her sit on a clutch just this once, and if they hatch then I'll know for sure if they're Muscovy mules or not!

mine has started to sit, the day before she lined her nest with feathers, I have put 16 hen eggs under her
