Hi Guys,

I have one gosling out of 5 which is a bit smaller but has been alright (eating, running about, swimming on the river ect) but today i found it lifeless when i went to let them out this morning, lieing like it had died, i picked it up shook it about a bit and kept it warm and it recovered. It's back out with its friends now but its got its mouth open constantly, can still squeak and is very wobbly on it's legs (has to sit down after a few steps) and now sits down to eat. Im going to check on it every 20 mins or so and its just not right anymore, any ideas on what has happened and what i can do?

Help would be much appreciated!!

Thank you in advance!

Amy

I have an embden gosling that seems to fall over on its side during the night and cannot get up. She did it again last night, when my husband found her on her right side, struggling to get up. Her right leg is bruised and swollen and she is not keen on lying down except leaning to the left. She has done this once before, and apart from some scrapes was ok. I wonder if yours is doing something similar but tired itself out struggling?? Odd when they do it though. I have removed all possible trip hazards in their sleeping quarters but have no idea what could be the cause of it. Keep us posted...
