I picked up 2 dotte bantams today. They are 14 weeks old. I am keeping them seperated but in sight of the other 5 adult birds.
Once I put them in together how can I ensure the newbies get growers pellets and the older birds layers pellets. I understand they should start layers at 16+ weeks. Or can I do a mix now with a ratio to suit both until then? Thanks :-)02

Well if they're all in together they'll eat the same stuff, won't they? It would be OK to put them on to layers from 16 weeks if you wanted to integrate them then, but may be better to wait a few weeks so they are more mature and able to stand up for themselves with the older birds. It's best to keep them on growers until they are nearly ready to lay, maybe 20+ weeks , but it's not a big deal either way.
