hi, I have rather rashly bought bopth chicken and duck eggs for hatching in an incubator. Previously I have succesfully hatched the chicken variety and was woindering if \i can put both together, giveb their different requirements and hatching times

You can do, but can become awkward as ducks need a slightly higher humidity which if the humidity is raised to suit the duck then the chicken eggs may suffer, or if you keep the humidity to suit the chicken eggs the ducks may have a difficult time, but i have known people put their duck eggs in and just add chicken eggs a week later. Good luck :-)17

Thanks - neither eggs have arrived yet anyway so maybe whoever gets here first gets to go into the incy first!

If your chicken eggs come first and you want to hatch all of the eggs including the duck eggs i wouldnt recommend putting chicken eggs in first as when they will hatch before the duck eggs and rise the humidity an awful lot when hatching which can have a big impact on your duck eggs! like is said though! good luck! some pics would be nice what ever ones you decide to hatch

i tryed both ducks went in first then chickens weekish later the chickens didnt make it and i only got 3 ducks out of 12

I have hatched ornamental duck and chicken eggs at the same time and not had any problems, I keep humidity the same throughout the hatch, I have never increased humidity at the end, and I hatch a fair few each year.
